Can you show me a preview of my new smile before I begin a treatment plan?

Definitely. In fact, modern technology and dental materials have given us a few options for smile previews. Dr. Davis can use digital photography and special software to create a preview of your potential smile. A diagnostic wax model can also reveal what your new smile would look like. In some cases, as in porcelain veneers, we can place temporary restorations so that patients can test drive a full set of veneers before the final restorations are placed.

What precautions are in place to ensure my safety as a patient?

Your safety is important to us, so we sterilize our reusable instruments in an autoclave and use disposable products as often as possible. Each of our treatment rooms is cleaned thoroughly between patient visits. We adhere to guidelines set by the CDC and OSHA and perform weekly tests on our sterilization equipment.

Can you give me more information about dental restorations like crowns and onlays?

Repairing and replacing teeth that have been damaged by disease, decay, or injury could involve a number of different restorative treatments, including dental crowns, onlays, inlays, porcelain veneers, and fillings.

Dr. Davis considers many different elements when deciding the right path for your restoration, including:

• What kind of pressure the restoration will need to withstand on a day-to-day basis.
• Your preference for a short-term or long-term solution.
• The appearance of the restoration in your smile--for instance, placing all-white crowns on teeth that show when you smile.

We can apply all dental crowns that are all porcelain, porcelain over gold, or all gold that will protect the tooth and restore it to proper form and function.  For large decayed or damaged surface areas, we can apply a protective covering, or onlay, adding strength and preventing decay. If you need fillings, we can use porcelain inlays to strengthen the tooth. And we can restore front teeth to natural shapes by applying ultra-thin porcelain veneers.
